Pig It and Hog It

Currently in Development

A four player card game played in Michigan and New York mostly. The idea is very similar to Euchre, but players receive all of the cards rather than having a card turned up and bid on how many tricks they believe they can take. Each bid must be higher than the last up to six tricks or the player can go alone where they risk more to score higher if they take all six tricks without help. A PIG is when you go alone, but get to exchange one card with your partner. A HOG is going alone without help.
Scoring is based upon the number of tricks taken, but a PIG is 12 points and a HOG is 24 points. If the player who wins the bid does not take as many tricks as they declare, then they will go negative the amount of the bid. The team who makes it to 50 points first (or the highest score if both exceed 50 points) is the winner. A tie is determined by "bidders out".

Ideas for current or future versions:

  1. Complete the bidding and playing functionality.
  2. Complete the scoring functionality.
  3. Add a multi-player mode where other local players can play rather than the AIs.
  4. Add networked play to challenge others through a ranked or unranked play lobby.
